Now for something completely different

Here’s a little project I’ve been working on with my friend Doug Danker. Video and audio recording for singer-songwriter types.

This is recorded through simple, inexpensive mics. The guitar was mic’d with a Shure 849 and a cheap Naiant omni, the vocals through a Heil PR22 dynamic, which is an inexpensive stage mic (about $100 — a lot like an SM57).

All were routed through components I built — the Toneslut Model 312 preamp and a compressor — and into reaper. The results make me quite happy.
